There are 3 things that has been proven time and time again to be common practices in a believer’s life who is walking out a healthy relationship with God. They are give, grow and gather.
“Givers” understand that what has been given unto them is from God, and they are blessed to be a blessing to those around them. They are cheerful givers of their time, talents and treasures, and personally take measures to impact and show the love of Jesus to those around them .
“Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.” – Luke 6:38
We are designed to grow! Christians who are growing are in pursuit of more knowledge and understanding of who Jesus is. Whether it is on a personal level or in a group setting, “growers” take responsibility in their own lives to discover more.
“Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God,” – Hebrews 6:1 (NIV)
A believer who has a healthy walk with God also surrounds themselves in an environment where they find a place to plug into. This is a place where they will be missed, and they actively take part in doing life together through community and fellowship with others!
Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. – Acts 2:46-47 (NIV)
