EQUIP Wednesdays As we start to lay down the blocks for a sure foundation in Christ, we begin with salvation and what that means for us as believers. Pastor Henrik shares his own personal journey of salvation and teaches on why our foundation must start with understanding the finished work of Jesus Christ. We must be good stewards of the things God has entrusted us with. Lynn & Christine Thompson teach on how they have seen fruit in their own lives come from those things they were good stewards of. God is faithful in his promises, and there is great blessing that comes, when we chose to trust in his sovereign hand. The Word of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword. It is through His Word, and it is in the secret place, that we understand more and more what a good, good Father we have. Pastor Sherry teaches on the importance of why we must build our foundation on the Word of God. John the Baptist said in Matthew 3:11, “I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” Lena Bluestein delivers a powerful teaching on why we need the baptism of Holy Spirit. Now that we have learned the importance of being baptized in the Holy Spirit, we must understand the gifts that come with it and how to operate in these gifts. Daniel Bluestein teaches on the gifts of the Spirit, how each gift works, and how when we use these gifts in our walk with Christ, we will see signs and wonders. On the cross, Jesus took all of our sickness and disease and placed it on himself and by his stripes, we are healed. Margaret Wrasse shares a very personal testimony and of what happens when healing does not come in the way that we expect and how we lean on our faith and trust God in those times. The Bible clearly states that “God inhabits the praises of his people.” There is power when we come before the throne of God with a heart of gratitude, no matter our circumstances are that surround us. Ron and Myrna Weaver build on our sure foundation that we have built, with the power of praise and worship. We don’t just go to church, we are the church, the very bride of Christ that he willingly died for. When we understand how important the church is to Christ, we will learn that it is an essential part of our walk to be in community with one another, unified as one body and one church under God. What does it mean to live a life that is honoring to God? We are ambassadors of the Lord, his elect and chosen people. As we continue to strengthen our foundation, we learn from this powerful teaching by Aaron and Jen Alley on the power of Kingdom Living. Together, we search the Word of God to find our true identity and reason of belonging. It is important that walk in confidence, knowing who we are in Christ and the promises he has given us. Only when we wear those truths like skin, will our actions and reactions line up with those of Christs’. If Jesus abided in the Father, and we are called to be imitators of Christ, then we must also be purposeful in abiding in Him. Simply put, it is in the secret place Jesus heard, then obeyed. It is in the secret place Jesus tapped into the source, and like Jesus, our source comes from spending time with our Father and inviting the Holy Spirit to guide us and go deeper into our hearts. When we do this, God takes care of all our needs and we begin to see people through the eyes of Jesus. Missions and evangelism are at the very heart of what each of us have been called to do as Christ followers. Jesus ministered and shared the love of God to everyone he was around. It is through his example and the Holy Spirit that we have been given the tools and the power to do the same. Justin Ray gives a foundational teaching on why we need to look at missions as the destination and evangelism as a lifestyle.
