Pastor Sherry and Mike

Connection Point

Sherry Motcheck was born and raised in Ludington Michigan. She grew up attending a little local church and at the

Pastor Sherry & Mike Motcheck

young age of 8, in a small basement classroom, she claimed Jesus Christ as her personal Savior.

Sherry met her husband Mike a few years later at Fire Escape, a Prayer and Praise Youth Ministry.  They married in 1991 and moved to Shelby.  Sherry and Mike have two sons, Adam and Matthew and are owners of a plumbing business.

For many years Sherry and Mike have been involved in youth ministry and currently serve as the youth leaders at Prayer and Praise Assembly.

In 2008 the Lord began to lead them down a new, unexpected path, and it was in October of that year that Sherry delivered her very first sermon.  It was then that God awoke a passion in her to seek God on behalf of His people and then to bring His message back to them. Sherry enrolled in the Michigan School of Ministry in pursuit of her pastoral credentials and is in the process of obtaining her Certified Level Credentialing with the Assembly of God.  Sherry will return to MiSOM in the fall to further her education.

Her heart is discipleship, teaching and equipping Gods people to find their full potential in Jesus Christ.  Sherry also has a heart for women’s ministries and enjoys being available to minister to and pray with women and encourage them to press into their destiny with Jesus Christ.

One of the areas of ministry Sherry and Mike will be building as she steps into this new position, is the Connection Point.  This ministry is focused on building relationships with each other, with our church and most importantly with Jesus Christ. The Connection Point starts as new visitors walk through our doors, with our Ushers and Greeters, our Welcome Center, our Coffee House, and our Sunday morning service.  We want people to feel important and loved the moment they set foot inside our building.  But, it also goes beyond that.  It is about forming lasting relationships and walking along side of those we encounter.  The Connection Point is a purposeful, relational ministry, and our prayer is that we can point people to Jesus, and change lives forever.
