What to Expect

If this is your first time at Prayer & Praise, you are our honored guest.  From the moment you walk up to the building, you can expect to feel like one of the family, surrounded by people who want to help you grow in your walk with the Lord!  We want you to feel right at home and our prayer is that you have a life-changing encounter with God and that your experience of our church is one of a safe place where you can soak in His presence.

We know that visiting a new church comes with many unknowns and questions.  We would love to take this opportunity to answer a few frequently asked questions in order to help you know what to expect upon arrival.

WHERE DO I GO ONCE I GET THERE?

As you’re walking to the building, you will be welcomed by one of our greeters at the door with a handshake or a hug.  If this is your first time, one of our lobby hosts would love to show you around and let you know where you can find coffee and snacks, the restrooms, children’s ministries and our connect center.  Our ushers are also available at the sanctuary entrance to help assist you with anything you need during your visit and to answer any questions you might have.

WHAT DO YOU DO FOR KIDS?

At Prayer & Praise, we want to raise up a generation who are passionate followers of Christ.  Our children’s ministry is a safe, age-appropriate environment where children fall deeper in love with the word of God.  We have dedicated and caring teachers who love to make the Bible come alive through a ciruculum that best fits your child’s age.  We have three areas of children’s ministries on Sunday mornings.  Our nursery is available for ages nb – 2 years, where they will have one-on-one attention being held and loved on from one of our nursery volunteers.  If your child is between ages 3 years – 5 years, your child will be able to be in our Kids for Christ class.  This is an energetic class filled with fun Bible teachings, crafts and interactive games.  Our last class, is our Prayer and Praise Kids, and is directed for children ages 6 years – 11 years.   Each of our classes are staffed with teachers who love the Lord and love children and who understand the importance of speaking truth into your child and being a godly role model.

As you walk into the the lobby, our Nursery will be on the right hand side, and the Kids for Christ and Prayer and Praise Kids rooms are on the left, down the steps.  We love to worship Jesus together as a family and our compassionate about worship.  All children stay in the sanctuary during worship and are dismissed to go to their classrooms after greeting time.  On the second Sunday of every month, we have our Family Sunday Service, were we do church all together with children in the sanctuary for the entire duration of service, with the exception of the nursery.  Kids are allowed to just be kids in service with us and we embrace getting to share our worship service together as one big family.

HOW LONG IS THE SERVICE?

Service starts at 10am and lasts about one hour and thirty minutes.  We start right away in worship and usher in the Holy Spirit through 4-5 contempary praise and worship songs. After worship we take up our tithes and offerings for the Lord and have brief video announcements to highlight any special gatherings we might be having.  Next we move into a 5 minute greeting time where you are welcome to hug a neck, get to know people and grab some coffee.  Children return back to the sanctuary after greeting time upon where we will have an official children’s ministry dismissal.  We then move into a spirit-filled message which is about 35 minutes long.  If you want to see our preaching style, check out our current sermons here.  After the message, we have a time called the Intersection.  The Intersection gives you three options, to stay in a place of worship and prayer in the sanctuary, to go to our lobby for more time to connect with others over coffee, or take what you have learned and go reach the world as you return home.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Don’t feel like you have to dress up. Most people wear casual attire, but you are welcome to wear whatever makes you comfortable.  Our focus is on Jesus Christ, not on what we wear or look like.
